Yesterday I was convinced to register on www.plurk.com after persuaded by one of my friend.

Maybe it’s one of the twitter-wanna-be but I think and I feel it’s way better. The tag line is “your life on the line.” It’s a micro blogging with 140 chars limitation but it represent it’s plurk (the post/twit) in horizontal timeline manner.

Each plurks are placed like in sequence editing software. Each placed according to plurk posting time. The responses from friends are grouped into the parent plurk. Pretty neat than twitter that put all twit into one jar.

Plurkers has their own “Karma” value. “Karma” can be obtained from posting plurks, adding photo, referencing other to join etc. The “Karma” value will determine whether you are eligible for more customization options in your plurk page. Speaking of customization, many websites offer the plurk theme/design/layout, you can find the link in the my profile section or go googling instead ;).

Beside adding friends, Plurk have the ability to follow others time line without being added in the target’ friends list and became a “fans”. So, Fans are people that follow your time line, but aren’t on your friends list.

To organize friends, Plurk have “Cliques” to group friends into your liking.

Beside plurking from the web, currently they give 2 other options. You can plurking and receive from Instang Messenger (currently only Gtalk, go to “My Account” and open tab “Instant Messaging”) and from internet mobile device at http://www.plurk.com/m. Plurk soon will support plurking from your mobile phone, you can register your phone number and they will let you know when it’s available. For firefox user, you can have Plurk Sidebar to plurking while browsing.

Addition to that, you can make your own plurking widget that you can embed to your website like this.

What are you waiting for go register now. I’ll be on my Plurk now, no more annoying twitter.

Last thing, you can switch to Bahasa Indonesia interface if you prefer that.
